Genre: The genre if this magazine is alternative and rock, we can see this as the largest picture on the frame is of The Courteeners and they are a indie rock band. Also, this issue is and 'Oasis Special' so this also links to the genre. Lastly, in the 'Q Review section' some of the albums that are reviewed include Kings Of Leon and The Kaiser Chiefs.
Target Audience: The main target audience of 'Q' are males and also females but on this particular page the stories seem to be more male orientated. For example, one of the features is about fitness and men seem to be more interested in the subject where as women prefer fashion and beauty which there is a lack of on this contents page.
Layout: The layout of the contents page can also link to the target audience, the colour red is used which isn't associated with any particular gender so it will attract both sexes. This frame fits the codes and conventions of a magazine contents page. The font is quite small so it doesn't get mistaken for the conventions of a magazine front cover.
Representation: The main picture on this frame is of the band 'The Courteeners'. They are a Manchester band and we can tell that they are from the north by what they are wearing and how they are positioned. They are quite dressed down and are opting for a casual pose. However, the lead singer of the band, who is stood slightly forward, is wearing sunglasses to show that he is the main member of the band and he lives the 'Rock Star Lifestyle'.
Media Language: A long shot has been used to show the band's full body and outfits and also so we can see the background and in this case they are alone so they are the main focus in the photo. In addition, a low angle shot has been used so that the band are looking down on the reader as if they are portraying themselves as better than the audience.
