1. Background- Both of the backgrounds of the double page spreads have a picture of the artist. I think that doing this prevents there being any blank spaces on the page.
2. Opening Paragraph- Both of the opening paragraphs on the page
have been purposely separated to introduce the artist, we get
information about the story.
1. Headline- The headline for my magazine is simply the Artist's name, as she is newly a solo artist i felt that this was appropriate. In 'Q' the title 'USA Got The Love' is a play on words with one of the artists songs and also the fact that she has just broke America makes the first part of the title relevant.
2. Text- Both sets of text on the magazine's are in columns how every the formatting is quite different.
1. Social Networking Info- My magazine has the artists Twitter and Facebook so that fans can stay updated with her.
2. Quotation- I put a quotation from the interview in the right hand corner to add more detail to the page. As 'Q' had already got a lot of detail on the page this did not need to be done.

Evaluation: Question 1- In what ways does your magazine use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
1. Titles- I put the text in a coloured box as it makes it stand out and also adds a bit of detail to the page. This is also done in 'Q' Magazine but I have chosen to use a different colour scheme. Also the fact that I used 'features' and 'review' like in 'Q' as they are relevant to my magazine.
2. Stories- I decided to position my stories in the style of a list like in 'Q' but to make it a bit different i didn't add as much text underneath. Also, the page on the right has more detail than the one on the left.
3. Pictures- On both covers there is a picture on the right and a picture that is part of the review section i decided to develop this idea by using a female instead of a band to attract my target audience.
1. Colour- I used the colour red, the same as in 'Q' magazine. However, I have used a lot more of the colour to make my page brighter and stand out more.
2. Review Section- Both magazine's have a review section however the layout of them both is completely different as 'Q' magazine is written in columns where as mine is not.
1. 'Contents'- The title of my contents page is much bigger than the one on 'Q' magazine's. I wanted it to stand out so that it was the first thing that caught the readers eye.
2. Picture- The main picture on my magazine is of a female solo artist where as in 'Q' it is a four piece male band. Also, my picture takes up half of the frame and is also part of the background.
3. Page Number- To improve this page I would do what 'Q' magazine does here and put details about the page next to the number to let the audience get a better insight of what the story is about.

Evaluation: Question 1- In what ways does your magazine use, develop or challenge forms and conventions of real media products?
1. Colour Scheme- I used the colour red as it was the colour my target audience associated with my chosen genre. Also, my style model's (Q Magazine) colour scheme is also the same as mine: red, black and white.
2. Model- Both the models are female and are in front of the text except for the stories that are relevant to them. Both of their faces are harsh and casual rather than smiling which would be associated with a pop magazine.
3. Positioning of text- Most of the stories are either on the left and right hand side of the cover except for the model's story as that is the main focus of this particular issue.
1. Stories- I positioned the text on either the left or right hand side of the page, this allows the main focus of the cover to be the picture of the model.
2. Colour- The red colour is slightly darker than on 'Q' Magazine. However, I think that the shade of red on the 'Q' works better as it stands out and is more noticeable from a distance.
3. Sticker- The sticker on 'Relevant' is in the shape of an arrow whereas on 'Q' it is a circle. I think that the style model's works better as it blends into the page more whereas the sticker on my magazine is white which draws attention to it rather than the picture.
1. Tagline- I positioned the tagline differently and 'Q' Magazine's is in a box. The tagline on 'Relevant' isn't very noticeable, if i would have used the same positioning as 'Q' I think it could have been more effective.
2. Masthead- The fact that one masthead is a letter and the other is a word challenges the conventions as indie magazine names tend to be abbreviations.
3. Font- The size and type of font are different to make my magazine different, I think that they both equally work well. However, I like the fact that part of the the artist's name is partly behind the model.
4. Artist Names- The artist's names are in a strip across the bottom of the cover in 'Relevant' whereas a list is used, I think the layout on my magazine works better because as I think it fits the codes and conventions of a magazine.
